Samsung Galaxy S3 – What Does Samsung Have in Store for Us

The Samsung Galaxy S3 is expected to be another major success from the electronics giant, and there are a lot of good reasons to believe that is true. The company has proven that they can make some pretty impressive handsets, and both of the previous Galaxy S flagships are among the best-selling Android devices on the market.

A quad core processor and more than 1.5 GB of RAM

The Galaxy S3 should bring a lot of new stuff to the table to be able to outmatch the current leaders, and there are a lot of rumors floating around about what’s going to be inside the new handset. The phone will most likely feature a quad core processor (highly likely that it will be Samsung’s new quad core Exynos chipset, with 1.5 GB or more of RAM), since the era of dual cores is ending and quad core chips have already entered mass production, and according to some sources, it will also feature a 3D display, which would be an interesting addition and a great way to use the “3” in the name.

The 4G LTE radio is a certainty, as is a HD display using Samsung’s best AMOLED technology

Two things that are a certainty are that the Galaxy S3 will feature a 4G LTE radio, since it’s the way of the future in North America and by mid-2012, when it’s expected to come to the market, most phones will already have LTE radios anyway. The other thing is a HD display – we already have a few smartphones with the beautiful 720p HD resolution, and it’s more than likely that Samsung will once again outmatch everyone with their Super AMOLED Plus technology. The display will be using a 16:9 format, which will allow it to fit in a smaller body with very narrow borders around it.

The design will differ from the current Galaxy S phones, the S3 will use ceramic parts

Design wise, the Samsung Galaxy S3 is rumored to be a notable departure from Samsung’s current design trends, with the housing being ultra slim and using ceramics instead of the current plastic parts, which have earned the Galaxy S2 quite the bad reputation with a lot of people (it’s not badly built, but plastic just seems cheap compared to all the new metal and glass phones). Hopefully, the phone will have a bigger internal battery to support all the new hardware and give us a good battery lifetime – that would definitely help a lot in making the S3 a top selling smartphone, seeing as most of the 4G LTE equipped devices have a pretty short battery life.

The Galaxy S3 has a high chance of becoming the best-selling Samsung phone

The first two Galaxy S smartphones were very popular with the users – they’re still ranked among the top sellers for the Android market share, and the Galaxy S3 has the potential to outmatch them in total sales, especially if most of the rumors turn out to be true. The Samsung Galaxy S3 will more than likely be able to completely outmatch the iPhone 4S,and it’ll most probably hold its own against Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5 when it’s released at the end of the year.
The handset will be officially announced sometime duringMay at a special event dedicated to the device, which everyone is eagerly awaiting. Until then, we’ll have to patiently wait and see what the future and Samsung will bring us.
